10 Classics to Try if You Like SFF

Welcome to my latest new blog post series! I’m not sure yet how many posts are going to be in this series, but I’m hoping to make it a monthly thing, probably for the rest of this year. Each month, I’m going to pick a different genre, focusing on popular bookstagram/booktube genres, and recommend 10 classics that you will probably enjoy if you’re a fan of that genre! If I’ve read and reviewed them, I’ll leave a link to my review so you can find out more, but some might be TBR books. Today, I’m focusing on science fiction and fantasy, and suggesting some classics (including modern classics!) that you might enjoy if you’re a fan of this genre.

Readerly: The New Update!

Today, I’m coming to you from self-isolation (my third round!). I have no symptoms of COVID, but a bubble at the school I was working at closed and I was among the staff told to self-isolate, so here we are. The plus side? It means I have more time to get ahead of myself with reading and blogging!

Reading Goal Update #2

We’re halfway through the year! That sounds so wrong to be saying, but it is true. It means summer is on the way, which I’m definitely looking forward to, and it means a catch up on how I’m doing with my 2021 Reading Goals!

Feminist Book Box: Would I Buy Again?

So, over the last 3 months I’ve been receiving Hachette’s Feminist Book Box. It was the first book box subscription I took out, and specialised in adult literature by amazing women. Each month, two paperback books are included: one new title, and one backlist. Of the three boxes I received, each featured one fiction and one nonfiction book, though I’m not sure if this is something they’re planning to keep up or if this might vary in future.

Unhauling Over 100 Books!

As I have mentioned in previous posts, and on social media, I am moving out of my parents’ houses soon! In preparation, I realised I was going to need to do a big unhaul, and finally let go of all the YA books that I’ve had for years, never read, and outgrown. As the title says, in total I’ve unhauled well over 100 books, but this post is going to be focusing on the unhaul I did at my dad’s house. When I was still at school, I spent my time evenly split between my parents’ houses, so I also had my books pretty evenly split. Over my time at uni, I started to spend more time during the holidays at my mum’s, and migrated most of my most-wanted books to hers. And after uni, thanks to lockdown, I barely got to go to my dad’s house to do any sorting out… until now!
