Read More »I recently read Mansfield Park by Jane Austen as a buddy read with my good friend Amy @ Read Dream Live, and I have to admit, it wasn’t what I expected. I’ve read Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, and Sense and Sensibility, and never have I encountered such a dull Austen heroine! Nor have I actually ever encountered an Austen side character quite so dull as Fanny.

Maggie O’Farrell was the name on everyone in the literary world’s lips last year, thanks to her novel Hamnet. However, until I received The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox in Hachette’s Feminist Book Box, I hadn’t ever heard of it. I was intrigued by it as soon as I received it, and it spent an impressively short amount of time waiting on my TBR compared to most other books that I have!
Read More »Welcome back! Today, I’m reviewing The Time Machine by HG Wells, a classic for sure! This one had been on my TBR for a long time, and I have a feeling that at some point I’d read the first section, as it seemed pretty familiar. I’m not sure when that was, or if I imagined it though. I chose this for my June TBR (and then ended up reading most of it in July…) because, well, it had been on my TBR far too long, and I have a lovely Norton Critical Edition.
