If you follow me on social media at all, you may have noticed that I’m a big fan of Jane Austen! Recently, on a short break to Hampshire, I got to tick another Austen experience off my bucket list, and visit the house she lived in in the village of Chawton. The Chawton house was where Austen spent most of the last years of her life, after her father passed away and her brother gave a house in Chawton to her, her sister, mother, and friend.

I’ve not read a historical fiction book for a little while, so it was a real refresher to pick up The Mermaid and Mrs. Hancock, and remember why it is that I love this genre so much.

Each month, I’m going to pick a different genre, focusing on popular bookstagram/booktube genres, and recommend 10 classics that you will probably enjoy if you’re a fan of that genre! If I’ve read and reviewed them, I’ll leave a link to my review so you can find out more, but some might be TBR books. Today, I’m focusing on science fiction and fantasy, and suggesting some classics (including modern classics!) that you might enjoy if you’re a fan of this genre.
