Goodbye 2020!

2020 is almost over, and while I won’t be sad to see it go, an awful lot of good things have happened for me, though not as I expected! I thought now was a good time to take a look back on the things I’ve achieved, as well as checking on the 22 goals I wrote when I turned 22, and my 2020 Reading Goals.

22 Things to Do While I’m 22

Happy Wednesday! Halfway through the week again. I’m pretty tired at the minute, and I didn’t write this post in advance like I usually do (it is currently the evening of September 8th and I want to schedule this for around midday tomorrow), so apologies if I get a little incoherent! I’m also getting over a cold I had at the weekend, as it turns out no amount of handwashing can save you from getting a runny nose if you work in a school. As I just turned 22 (insert Taylor Swift song here), I thought I would make a list of 22 things I want to achieve in the next 12 months, and then maybe (if I remember!) I’ll revisit those next year, and see how I did. Maybe I’ll do some periodic check-ins? Let me know!

Couch to 5K 3 Weeks Down

3 Weeks Down! | COUCH TO 5K

Welcome back to the second installment of my Couch to 5K series! I am surprised, and pleased to tell you that I’m actually keeping up with it, going for three runs a week and following the podcasts. As I’m writing this, I’ve just finished week 3, but I’ll be into week 4 by the time you’re reading this. I thought I’d do a little overview of the weeks I’ve done so far and how I found them, and talk about how I’m feeling looking ahead at the next challenges.

Baby Steps Upcycling Attempt 1

Upcyling Attempt #1 | BABY STEPS

Last week for my lifestyle post, I talked about my plans to upcycle some things that can’t be donated into reusable makeup wipes and another face cloth! I’ve given it a go and wanted to give you a bit of an update on how it went. I won’t keep anyone in suspense. It went… not as I hoped. I think what I’ve created will be functional, but pretty it is not. Still, I’ll give you a quick rundown on how I made them, in case anyone else wanted to give it a go (and probably make something much better!)Read More »

Baby Steps Lent Goals Revisited

Lent Goals Revisited | BABY STEPS

Well, a lot has happened since my last post in the Baby Steps series. I’m not really continuing it at the moment because when people are very limited to what they can buy, and are having to buy whatever they can find, I don’t think encouraging sustainable choices is a very helpful option. Of course, if you’re able to still make the more sustainable choice I would advocate for taking it, but equally, when the supermarkets are carrying much smaller selections, and availability generally has decreased, it can’t be a priority. Having said that, I did want to do a follow up to my last post, my Lent Goals post, as Easter has now happened.Read More »
