Welcome to Day 15 of my 2020 Book Spotlight Countdown! For more information about this series, please read my introductory post here. Today, I’m celebrating Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid!
10th of 2020
We first meet Daisy as a young woman, a girl really, growing up on the Sunset Strip. From an early age she is introduced to the world of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Her voice starts to get her more and more attention, culminating in her collaboration with a band called The Six. Together, Daisy Jones & The Six release music, and travel the world until suddenly, the band splits up. Told in the form of interviews with Daisy, the band members and people close to them, the story is revealed gradually, sordid history being brought to light.
This book is so unique I can’t think of any good comparisons, but if you like deeply flawed characters, a unique format and rock ‘n’ roll, Daisy Jones and the Six is for you. Try the audiobook (complete with full cast) for a truly immersive experience.
What a great synopsis and lovely post, really quite an intriguing book!
