Outstanding Blogger Award Parts I & II

Today, I’m doing the Outstanding Blogger Award! I’m super happy to have been nominated for this, so many thanks to Poorwa and Pavithra who nominated me. You can find Poorwa’s blog, AtlasWebDesigns, here, and Pavithra’s, IntrovertBags, here, so please head on over and show some appreciation. First things first, of course, the rules!

Provide the link to the creator’s original award post. (very important: see why in step 5)
Answer the questions provided.
Create 7 unique questions.
Nominate 10 bloggers. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination. Neither the award’s creator, nor the blogger that nominated you, can be nominated.
At the end of 2020, every blog that ping-backs the creator’s original post will be entered to win the 2020 Outstanding Blogger Award!

Poorwa asked…

What is the one question you would ask to your pet if you could?
Well, I don’t have a pet, so let’s imagine I’ve adopted one of my boyfriend’s dogs for a minute. For context, he’s a brown labradoodle and he is gorgeous. I would ask him how it feels to be the subject of so much attention from ladies when he’s out on walks!

What’s a special memory you have from school?
I can’t really think of any particularly inspiring ones, but I can think of lots of funny ones. I’m not sure they’re the kinds of things I necessarily want to share though!

Do you believe in ghosts?
I don’t, no. I find comfort in the idea of some kind of afterlife where loved ones can watch over us, but I don’t believe in ghosts and deep down I don’t really believe in the afterlife if I’m being honest with myself.

What are your favourite song lyrics?
So many possibilities, most of them by Taylor Swift (too predictable??). One of my all-time favourites of hers is
“Hey, you call me up again just to break me like a promise
So casually cruel in the name of being honest
I’m a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
‘Cause I remember it all, all, all too well”

What would you do if you could be invisible for one day?
I don’t know! I’d feel really uncomfortable with people not knowing I was there, so I think I’d stick to just shouting “BOO!” a lot!

If you could be any animal what would it be?
I’d want to be a dolphin I think! They’re really social animals, and really intelligent so I’d love to know more about how their brains work and how they communicate with each other etc. Also I do really like swimming, so that would be a bonus!

Tell us about a time you made a good decision and why?
I think I made a good decision recently to defer my MA and wait until 2021 to continue studying. Because I made that decision, I will end up with an extra qualification (I’m studying to become a Level 3 Teaching Assistant), and I’ll have a year of full-time work experience in a school. Plus, I hope it will also mean I end up actually getting face-to-face teaching for my MA…

Pavithra asked…

If you meet the ‘Lamp Genie’ what would be your 3 wishes?
This is tricky! It would definitely depend on the day. Assuming the Genie has the power to do anything, I’d wish for no more COVID, or a cure for COVID, first. My second wish would be for all countries to pass laws protecting LGBT citizens and giving them the same rights as cishet people. And finally, I’d wish to always have enough space for more books!

What’s one thing that always makes you feel confident?
Wearing a good outfit! If I feel comfortable in something, I’m a lot more confident.

What is the most stupid thing you believed as a kid?
Ooh, I don’t really remember! I obviously believed all the classic things parents tell children, but I don’t remember anything particularly interesting that I used to mistakenly believe.

What is your favourite hobby and why?
Reading! I learn a lot from it, because I tend to read contemporaries that have something to say about our current world, or historicals to learn about the past.

Which social media do you use the most?
Twitter, definitely! I’m not always tweeting, but I’m always lurking…

What is your latest obsession?
The X Files! I started watching it in October for ~spooky season~ and I’m hooked.

What are you the biggest fan of?
Taylor Swift!

My questions…

  1. Let’s try to be positive! 2020 has been a really tough year, but can you name three of your top moments of the year?
  2. What have you discovered about yourself this year?
  3. Have you thought about your New Years Resolutions or things you want to achieve in 2021 yet?
  4. How would you describe your blog if you had only a single sentence?
  5. What’s your favourite Christmas tradition?
  6. Have you got all your Christmas presents yet?? What are you hoping to receive?
  7. What is something you’d like all your readers to know? This could be a fact about you, or it could be about anything you like!
