Bookish Prediction Tag!

Welcome back! It seems, as long as there’s very little going on with me to talk about in terms of lifestyle, that lifestyle posts are being replaced with tags. I’m enjoying participating in these tags, so I’m definitely not complaining, but I do hope that soon I’ll have some lifestyle inspiration so I can shift tags to the Monday bonus post slot — if I keep getting tagged in them! Today, we’re doing the Bookish Prediction Tag!

It was created by Book Princess Reviews and I was tagged by the lovely Mere @ LoreOfTheBooks! Can’t wait to get into this tag.

There are some rules that must be followed, so here we go!

Rules
pingback to the creator of the tag, @bookprincessreviews
tag the person who tagged you
find an answer to match each prompt
have fun!

Next Read
I think my next read is going to be Strangers on a Train by Patricia Highsmith. That and my current read drew when I did a twitter poll asking people to vote for my next read, so it makes sense for that to be the next thing I pick up.

Next 5 Star Read
I did love Carol (also titled The Price of Salt), so possibly Strangers on a Train. However, to mix it up, I’m going to go with another book that’s high up on my TBR: Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo.

Next 1 Star Read
I don’t usually read books that I don’t think I’ll like, so this is a tricky one. I’m in a bookclub that’s about to read Brandon Sanderson’s Skyward, and it’s really not the type of thing I’d pick for myself, so I’m going with that. But I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it a lot more than 1 stars worth!

Next Love Interest (or Character that Seems Really Cool to You)
I don’t really know much about the characters on my TBR, so I’m going to go for the LAST character that stood out to me as really cool, which was Molly Bloom in Ulysses!

Next Book You’ll Be Buying
Hamnet, by Maggie O’Farrell, if I haven’t already by the time this gets posted! I’m trying to source it from an indie bookstore, but I’m struggling to find one that can get stock!

Next Book That Will Leave You with a Book Hangover (and Desperately Wanting a Reread or Next in Series)
If either of the two books I mentioned as 5 star reads turn out to be 5 star reads, I’d expect it to be them. But, again, in the interests of mentioning several different books, I’m going to go with Authority by Jeff VanderMeer. I hope it leaves me wanting the next in the series, because I also have the last book in the series, Acceptance, on my TBR!

I’m Tagging
Alice @ GothamBatsAndBooks
Belle Rose @ BelleRoseReads
Andrew @ OnMyBookshelf
Beth @ ReadByBethany
Danni @ ForBooksSake
And anyone else reading this who fancies it!

  1. I loved reading your answer! This looks like so much fun. The 1-star prediction seems to be a tricky one. I usually don’t buy books that I know I won’t like, so I don’t even think that I would have a book that fits it. In the last year, the lowest I rated was 2 stars. But I do hope that you’ll still enjoy the Sanderson book a bit.

  2. This is such a fun tag! The 1-star prediction is hard because you wouldn’t buy a book you think you won’t like but at the same time you could have a book you think will be great and it isn’t until you start reading it that you realise it isn’t as good!

    • Yeah it’s so hard to guess! I only buy books I expect to be 3+ stars so there’s not really any I expect to not enjoy!

  3. I still need to pick up Authority since I read the first in the series over a year ago! I am also interested in picking up Girl, Woman, Other.
